Hi Bob! I’m not on Facebook anymore so this is the only place I could find to say “Thank you” for your signed editions you sent to our Hammondsport library!

Hello, Penny, great to hear from you again! Let me wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It was my pleasure to donate those books in your name. I hope they are read and enjoyed in the years ahead. BTW my email is: rkidera@outlook.com Much easier to connect that way than through my author website. I'm cutting back on Facebook as well. I use it to keep in touch with my kids, grandkids, and friends and to publicize my books. But there's too much negativity and anger on it nowadays. Sorry I couldn't deliver my books in person this past October, but my schedule was too hectic and I never got down to the Finger Lakes. Maybe next time. Best wishes to you always! Bob

Hey, Bob!
I looked you up on the internet this morning purely on a whim. Imagine my surprise to discover that you are a mystery writer and won the Tony Hillerman award since I have been a fan of Hillerman and the American Southwest for many years. Belated congratulations!

Your very old Wauwatosa friend,

Thank you, Greg! Great to hear from you. Yes, I have been writing novels since my wife and I took early retirement and moved to New Mexico in 2010. Enjoying every minute of it. I hope you and your family are well. Are you still in the Chicago area? Don't get back there very often, but may next summer. Maybe get together? Bob

Bob,
In 1993 we moved from Chicago to Doylestown, PA in bucolic Bucks County between Philadelphia and NYC. My oldest of three daughters and her family moved to Denver just this week. We are planning on spending Christmas in Denver and then the Thursday and Friday after Christmas in Santa Fe. Perhaps we could get together then if you are available.
I watched the video of your talk to the Southwest Writers and your description of the big house with the empty lot next door in Wauwatosa
brought back pleasant memories.

Greg,

Thanks for the update. I’d love to get together with you and yours in Santa Fe this Christmas time. My wife Annette and I have been out here in New Mexico since 2010 after we took early retirement from our teaching jobs. My daughters live in Rochester, NY and Cleveland. Have one grandson and one granddaughter. Time sure flies. Haven’t been back to Illinois or Wisconsin in about fifteen years but may go next summer. I don’t know if you remember Joe McBride, he was a year ahead of us at St. Bernards. He and his wife visited us last month and we had a great time. On a sadder note, you may remember Dan Stacey, who lived next door to you on 72nd Street. My brother Dave and I kept in touch with Dan over the many years after he moved to South Carolina. Had many memorable times together. But Dan passed away on May 2nd after a long battle with cancer. He was a great guy to the end.

Let me know of your plans as we get closer to Christmas.

It’s easiest to reach me via e-mail at rkidera@outlook.com

Hope to see you soon, Greg!

Bob
